MBA Changes & New Upload Area
If you’re one of the lucky ones already using the new Merch by Amazon upload interface, the last few weeks you haven’t had the flexibility you had before with the LazyMerch upload tool. Read more about the current state of the changes here.
Although we were quick to initiate changes that allowed apparel items to continue to be edited without a hitch, all those products that we gave a background to with the old interface didn’t look as good anymore.
For us, it is almost impossible to find a reasonable solution that works for the users with the new area as well as for those with the old one.
So until the time comes that all users have the same interface, we have to help ourselves with stopgap solutions.
While it remains the same for users with the old interface, these are the changes for users with the new interface:
- Products that were previously converted by us and given a background will no longer get this (Popsockets, Tote Bags, Throw Pillows, Phone Cases).
- Selected colors in your product templates will now be selected directly in MBA
- Scaling options in your product templates will no longer cause the images generated by LazyMerch to have this scaling, instead this scaling will be applied directly in MBA
- A scaling value of 0 in LazyMerch lets the tool know that the default scaling values suggested by MBA should be taken
- Clothing items do not yet have a scaling option in the tool, as this would cause problems for users of the old interface
- For this workaround to work for you, you must specify only one file path
- Printing on the back of a product does not work yet
- Remember to adjust your product templates in the tool accordingly!
